I know I'm geographically challenged BUT Barcelona is no-where near the Red Sea!
I do have some pics. I have sent them to Discover Egypt, when they go on the site I'll post again on here. I don't want to take up valuable webspace putting pics on this site. The Moderator my get a bit cheesed off!
Here is a taster:

I've got no problem with you adding pictures the way you have been already - they're not using my space/bandwidth. _________________ "Man fears Time - but Time fears the pyramids" - Old Egyptian saying |

Nice pictures.
Amazing to think that the Ramesses II Temple at Abu Simbel isn't in it's original location, having been moved, along with Nefertari's temple, in the 1960's due to the flooding from the Aswan dam! Wonder what he would have made of that? _________________ "Man fears Time - but Time fears the pyramids" - Old Egyptian saying |

Hi Sharon (and everyone),
Just a quick question - have they opened the upper tier of Hatshepsut's temple? I haven't been there for a couple of years and one of your photos suggest they have.
BTW Lovely pics - makes me wish I was there (sigh)
(Congratulations Serena on becoming an Aunt!! )
Jan
PS I can just imagine Ramses wandering around the desert looking for his temples!!

Barcelona is quite far from the Mediterranean sea aswell BUT I guess closer to it than Canada!
The second Tier to Hatchepsuts temple was open but the inner rooms are in need of restoration so you can go up to it but cannot go inside the rooms. |

That's good news, at least its accessible - and I’m glad to see that Abydos is back on the tourist route.
Must have been hot at this time of year! |

It is on the Med, BUT as far as I know NOT right on the Med. ie NOT a coastal town. I could be wrong? I think I may have it confused with Madrid! It's all Spain to me! |

Barcelona is actually a coastal town and yes, it's on the Med.
And it has absolutely nothing to do with Ancient Egypt _________________ "Man fears Time - but Time fears the pyramids" - Old Egyptian saying |

You don't know that?! There might have been some important trade between Barcelona and Alexandria or something. Perhaps they exchanged oranges for bananas so that everyone had a fuller fruit bowl! Someone help me out here. I think my fruit bowl is half empty. |
