Don't they always blame the mother? Very Happy

I very much enjoyed both Troy and Alexander the Great. And I wouldn't mind seeing a movie about Ptolemy I's years in Egypt. Ever since I read Duncan Sprott's book the ptolemies I gained a greater appreciation of the Ptolemaic Period.

EVEN THOUGH I ENJOYED ALEXANDER I THINK THAT THE MOVIE COULD HAVE BEEN MADE A HELL OF ALOT BETTER... I WOULD HAVE DEFINATELY IMAGINED THAT THE FILM MAKERS WOULD HAVE INCLUDED ALEXANDERS TIME IN EGYPT AND HIS VISIT TO THE SIWA OASIS WHERE HE WAS DECLARED A GOD Sad I WAS REALLY DISSAPOINTED THAT THE FILM ONLY SEEMS TO CONCENTRATE ON ALEXANDER'S CHILDISH STROPS AND ARGUEMENTS, APART FROM THE BATTLE AT GUAGAMELA THERE WASNT THAT MANY HIGHLIGHTS FOR ME.. I JUST DONT THINK THAT THE FILM DOES JUSTICE TO SUCH A GREAT AND LEGENDARY HISTORICAL FIGURE Rolling Eyes

Would you mind not posting in all caps?
In internet terms it means you're shouting at us Very Happy

I must admit that I still haven't seen the movie.
Somehow I never quite got into the late period history. No idea why...

I thought Troy was an excellent film. Razz
I didn't think much to Alexander though, I think that Angelina Jolie makes a much better Lara Croft. Exclamation

I'm not much into that period, either, but it has its moments. The movie is quite good, and I like that it was told from the perspective of Ptolemaios Soter--and it didn't hurt that he was played by Anthony Hopkins (one of my favorite actors).

Sadly they are not going to make any more Lara Croft movies. They never made enough money from the first two. I shall miss Lara in her skin-tight wetsuits. Crying or Very sad

Things maybe looking up for you! Very Happy I heard on the news this morning that after Angelina Jolie has had her baby, she's going to start some serios training to get into shape for Tomb Raider 3. Razz
I just thought I'd give you something to look forward to - You may get to see some more wetsuit scenes yet. Wink

I'm sure Angelina's going to start some serious training, and not serios training. Laughing Sorry for the typo. Embarassed

:director:
This may be slightly off-topic, (but seeing as it's gone from Alexander The Great to Angelina Jolie's figure, I thought it might not matter). Confused
For anyone who loves the Tomb Raider films, there's also a program from a few years ago called Relic Hunter, they're always showing re-runs of it on Sky TV, and it always used to remind me of Tomb Raider.
I always thought it was a good program, although its probably not exactly a classic, seeing as the show was cancelled, after only two or three series. Very Happy

The name sounded familiar and I found this page about it. I seem to recall watching it late at night on the weekends (probably reruns) and it was all right for late-night entertainment. Tia Carrere is definitelty attractive but she's no Angelina. Very Happy

LOL Are you folks sure this topic used to be about Alexander the Great?
