You know, I'm actually terrified that this will actually happen. Crying or Very sad Terrorists are so heartless they could do anything evil and wicked to hurt people both physically and emotionally-they already attacked Luxor in the past...that's why I really want to go to Egypt asap, just in case the worst happens.

You know It's quite odd how all our minds seem to go to the same thing. I was on holiday in London last year when London got bombed, and my immediate reaction (after the fear and sadness, that is) was - I hope they don't bomb The British Museum. Sad That would be horrible especially seeing as that's the only way I get to see any of the wonders of AE.
I must admit, it is quite worrying to think of them bombing anything in Egypt, it's all so historically precious. Crying or Very sad

I cannot believe that people would just destroy historical relics for the fun of it! Can you imagine how much more information we would have about ancient egypt if the liabrary of alexandria had still been standing?

I so agree with you queencleopatra, it's really sad to think of all the knowledge we've lost out on from the Library of Alexandria.

I heard a story that the reason all the noses are broken off Egytpian statues is because a cleric got a group of people together and did it. There's something about noses and bad luck, not really sure the full story, sorry. Also the outer casing stones were taken from the pyramids to use in the construction of Cairo. I just don't understand.

But we are not that far from them. Here we have a lot of battlefields and contractors will bulldoze the land to put up a shopping center. Then they'll stamp a name on shopping center of one of the famous generals and say they are built it in their honor. Mad I'm sure all those dead soldiers would be happy to know that they died on that land so people could later be buying cheap cloths made in some third world country there. Rolling Eyes

Did any of that make sense Sad
