At the end of the second colonnade of the Hatsjepsut Temple is the Chapel dedicated to the God Anubis
The small Anubis Chapel have a 12 columned hall and inner rooms (closed). Scenes of Hatshepsut have been destroyed, but scenes showing Tuthmosis III still survive. The Chapel has intact parts of its roof that are painted dark blue with yellow five-pointed stars that make the ceiling resemble the heavens. The reliefs here are beautifully and so are the colours.
The chapel also has figures of many gods, Nekhbet, Uaset, Amen-Ra, Harmachis and Osiris.

Some pics of the chapel:

Inner Room, closed for the public.

Still beautiful colours !!

Anubis, damaged but still beautiful !

Tothmosis III

Wow! Those are gorgeous pics...I never even knew this part of Hat's temple existed. The colours are still so bright after so long!

I love learning about and seeing pictures of the less well known wonders of Egypt, like this little chapel. Can you visit this place easily or is it all closed/restricted?

The Temple is easily to visit, all the touroperators are going there.
But its better to go at yourself, then you have more time to spend there , it is easy to get there, from the ferry by taxi Smile

On this web-site more beautiful pictures of the site

I just noticed that those statues of hatchepsut in osiride form show her holding the crook and flail but also an ankh sighn and an dominion sigh...interesting. I've never seen this before-is it common or just seen here?
