I was on here earlier and found a link to a website where it had some tombs that you could enter virtually, you got to direct a camera round and it was amazing with all the inscriptions on the walls and a sarcoughagus and all, so do you know of any sites that enable you to do this? please post if you do... There is a really good site that takes you on some great 'tours' of tombs here: OsirisNet Wink

Gee, thanks mate. Very Happy I'm sure you'll enjoy that site, it's very detailed. Cool

I'm a legend, hey?.... I'm sure that must be an exaggeration.... Laughing

Alright, I've found another virtual tour, this one's of the tomb of Tutankhamun. It's in animation, so there are no cool photographs of any original scenes like there are on OsirisNet, but good for a laugh.
It's not particularly educational, btw.

You mean the History Channel isn't likely to use it?

No, not terribly educational but it is cute. However, the first time I switched rooms on the map feature and the new room loaded, there was that explosion sound and I think I almost wet myself.

I turned down the volume on my computer. Very Happy

Osirisnet is a terrific resource and it's very well done. The graphics and photographs are top notch and the writing is quite interesting. This is a very professional site and I've perused it often.

This site is really informative
http://www.eyelid.co.uk/tempmenu.htm

Have you seen the amarna site here? It's average

http://www.thearchitecturestore.co.uk/homepage.html

This is a good amarna site! Reconstructions give you a feel for the city- the egyptian media production city is shown here, it's like a mini amarna(used for filming docos on egypt), you can see more of it in the EMPIRES series of documentries-but i wish i had have seen the doco Akhenaten and Nefertiti: the sun gods of egypt -it looks really good from stills i've seen on the net but i missed it both times it was on tv!LOL Have u seen it?

I've got in on chapter3 but u can just go back to the beginning if u want i just had it on this page so you could see the real life photo of the egyptian production city showing the kings bridge. In the shots from the EMPIRES doco u see akhenaten in a chariot and he's going down a road lined with white lion statues-things like the statues and the golden aten on top of the bridge are just artistic licence-to make it more appealing to tourists, but u never know it may have been like that, after seeing tut's coffins and treasure u just never know how extravagant it may have been.I just like this photo cause you see how AE walls slightly sloped-so exotic!
