Come to think of it, there's a lot of juicy details in the uncut versions of all Egyptian myths. For example, Atum's creation of the universe (the big bang!!!!! Laughing ) and the myth about Osiris losing his 'wotzit' and having an artificial one made by Isis...so i shouldn't be surprised at this myth here.

Now I really should have given this this thread subject an 'X-rating' LOL

The Big Bang... At least I'm not the only one getting ambiguous. Here's one for the road: it's quite obscene, so I won't publish a translation, but I've always wanted to swear in Egyptian. Now's a good time as any.

Moet-es nehtef-et mit em doeat.

Good luck translating that one Cool

Oh goody! Egyptian swear words! Twisted Evil I've always wanted to learn that! (it's funny, whenever my friends want to learn foreign languages, they always want to learn how to swear in them first! Laughing )

I assume those words are not in the 'Teaching Egyptian' thread then! Laughing

Hmm... I found the word 'koer', referring to the chieftain of the tribes of Meroƫ (Nubia). This would originate from an archaic form of k-oer, "oer" meaning "great". The "k" could indeed be a referrance to leadership. I'm not sure though.

Yeah, the book I got that from (one of my favs Egyptian Myths and Legends, Donald A MacKenzie) just stated that as a footnote, but no more info than just - 'kh' signifies 'majesty' - it got me curious. Smile
