Why would Akhenaten bring something to el-amarna that he didnt need to. My guess is that it was part if something important.

Could have been part of a longer text on the walls (floor even?).

T.36.18 is in the North Suburb, looking at Plate II it is not easy to guess what it was : small house or a room part of T.36.60 (may be a mud-brick factory) This object found in 1929 was not the only one (p.84) in T.36.18, but one worthy of mention in chapter II (p.51). The description is : Fragment of dark blue faience inlaid with cartouche of A III in light blue. Cartouches of past kings at Amarna are not uncommon.
