Back to the image of the boy/god.

The boy is young. He wairs his hair in "the side-lock of youth" (quoting the author). He is naked, except for a cape which is either made of pleated material or striped fabric.
He wears a heart amulet on a string around his neck.

The fron of the face and the forehead are missing, but he does appear to wear a fillet on his head. On the reconstruction they gave him a ureaus.

The god Ched, if that's him, was often depicted wearing a ureaus.

In the other depictions of Tut I don't ever remember seeing him wearing a side-lock though. But then again, I wasn't really looking....

I think he never got depicted like that. If these (wearing the side-lock and uraeus at one time) are the characteristics of this god Ched, it's very likely he's the one getting shown there.

For an actual king it's impossible though. Tut never got depicted in the status of king with a side-lock, as young as he may have been. It was just 'not done'. Pepi II attained supremacy when he was 6 years old and got depicted as a grown man, muscles and all. I think it just wasn't considered a very powerful signal, having to show your king still as a little child.

Or it could be Tut as a Prince. He got to the throne at age 9 or so. So plenty of time to be a kid and take archery practice.

Supposedly there's an image of King Amenhotep II as a young Prince Amenhotep, practicing archery. He's not in a chariot however.

The forehead is missing though. You can only see a fillet around the head. That could be a head-band couldn't it?
