Regarding W.R. Johnson, I do not understand this sentence "while Akhenaten's wife Nefertiti takes on the attributes of Tefnut". It seems to me that in representations, Shu and Tefnut have a separate life, even if they are brother/sister/husband/wife. In no place Akhenaten and Nefertiti are presented as brother/sister. Idea

any deity that represented the sun was still allowed, but they took a back seat to the aten.
