Thanks for sharing those Lutz! Interesting to see all those marked objects lining the street. The close-up you provided shows some large storage containers that remind me of the ones they found in KV 63. I get the impression they have shown up in several tombs used for burial as well? I thought they found several of those in the tomb meant for Merytre Hatshepsut (I think KV 42).
Do you happen to know if those come from the debri filling the entrance of a tomb? Or are those actually found inside whatever structure they have uncovered? _________________ Math and Art: http://mathematicsaroundus.blogspot.com/ |

I found it rather strange. Probably a typical Hawass show?

I am not a pottery expert but as far as I remember the colored big once start in the time of Amenhotep III. ?
In each case they are for dating very important and already therefore probably appear to me their storage in the middle of the Valley, friendly said, mismatching. In a room of the tomb of Merenptah, secure for weather and Valley-visitors, would be a better idea, I think.

The only information I can give is that they come from the dig behind Merenptah, sorry ...

What a treasure! Thanks for sharing the photos, Lutz. You're making all of us envious. Hey, if you take me along next time, I'd be glad to be your photographer. And luggage carrier. Water boy? Slave? Whatever it takes.

They are a bit better than the ones I took there a few weeks ago Lutz. After the first few I took I noticed the "no photos" sign _________________ Do not shorten the time devoted to pleasure,

They were made from the top of the hill over KV 10, next to the sign "Don`t climb the mountain!" ...

Still need a butler for first week in March ... Birthday receipt with Egyptian (!!!) Champagne at an apartment next to the pyramids ... Complete body photo? References?
But seriously, here are some new photos from the fast progressive dig in the VoK :

Hi folks,
I was just looking at Nick Reeves website and the dig near KV62 is extremely close to where Reeves believed "KV64" would be located. I was under the impression that the SCA would not be searching for this tomb so now I am confused. From what Hawass has been saying I believed that the two new tombs located were in the hills near KV8. |

" Ancient Egypt Magazine " Issue 51 - December 2008 / January 2009 gives on page 8 a short notice about an interview of the editor with Dr. Zahi Hawass at Giza :
Quote: | " ... Dr. Hawass told us ... that he has now discovered the entrances to three new tombs, situated close to the entrance of the Tomb of Merenptah. " |
Greetings, Lutz. |
