So sorry if this has already been asked, but I was watching an old NatGeo called "Into the Great Pyramid", where Zahi Hawass had a remote-controlled robot drive up into a narrow, long shaft where it drilled a hole into the limestone when it got to the end. Then it shined a light into its tiny new hole to reveal that inside this room, was just another barrier on the other side.
I was wondering - did they ever find out what was on the other side of that barrier? |

Not yet - at least not publicly
There have been many suggestions over the years since then that Hawass is planning to explore further...but nothing has happened.
There are likely MANY more pressing matters in Egyptology that time and money are being allocated towards... |

Hi guys. Im pretty sure Dr Hawass hasnt given up on it. I thought I read somewhere recently that they were testing out new designs for miniature robots to explore the shaft once again. |

Zahi Hawass will be retiring from the SCA, so he may have the time to carry out these explorations.
If he gets permission from the SCA that is lol _________________ Let he who seeks peace be prepared for war. |

It was intended, but the ministry post he was supposed to fill, is not becoming available.
So instead he was promoted to the rank of deputyminister:

Are deputy ministers allowed to play with robots? _________________
