Great Hymn of The Aten wrote:
Who give breath to sustain all that he has made!
When he descends from the womb to breathe

Upon reading the complete hymn , I almost could hear his voice reciting these quotes, just I can hear Lutz say "Google is your Friend"

I'm having no luck. Apparently it's in the koran in those words, but also a million other places.

OK, now The Great Hymn to The Aten is often linked to Psalm 104, perhaps that reveals something? But you have comefurther than I have (perhaps because I try to read all that stuff Very Happy

I tried searching google books and google scholar for the phrase "Those who gave thee a body" and the term Akhenaten.
Comes up absolutely empty!

Which suggests to me that this is not in any book or literature. That makes me highly suspicious, and I expect that this is one of those internet quotes that someone made up and started to lead a life of its own.

Doesn't really sound like something written during the Amarna period either? Everything is in terms of how the Aten creates everything. Why record a body was created with weakness? That doesn't really make sense to me.

Lutz
My, My, My, aren't we in a cheerful mood Lutz, so I take it you found something? Rest assured, my "friends" didn't ask me to turn of my brain;on the contrary I was told that I could do it if only I could activate the right side of the brain Wink

AFAIC: Psalm 104 IS the Great Hymn, though rewritten for Christians; so that was a dead end.

Oh, BTW: A couple of months ago you said indeed that Google is our Friend, so itr wasn' that odd you hear a voice echo that in my mind

Googling, "akhenaten Those who gave thee a body" gives you 5,940 results, so I don't feel too bad for making that mistake, but I'm staring to agree with you that this isn't an Akhenaten quote.

If that's the case, I stand corrected and I apologize for the mistake, but knowing that if we're right and this isn't a quote of Akhenaten, then we have just become a bit more intelligent than 5,940 Google results, haha. Rolling Eyes

Funny thing, the results for Google are that you are either redirected to a quotation site an the quote is attributed to Akhenaten, or you are redirected to a christian site and the quote is attributed to no one

It's getting late here, I am off having some sleep!

Good night everyone an see you tomorrow.

I’ve done also a search on Google, some of these quote’s appear on several sites, but no site gives any clue where they got the original quote. I mean, were they found in the city of Achet Aton or on the talatat that was found in Karnak?

By the way Toth, when starting to hear voices, as a scribe you should write them down. Quite some great religions began by people who started to hear voices, I believe they are called prophets. Idea

Nice try, Ranoferhotep, but that is not what Lutz meant. I did... reread my last posts (including the one which says I am getting tired; I think those post explain it! Wink
