|
|
Hello everyone,
Next semester I'm going to be studying abroad in Cairo, and obviously I plan on spending lots of time at the Egyptian Museum. Does anyone know if it is possible to become a member of the museum so I won't have to pay the same entry fee every time I go? Thanks very much! |

I'm sure you could find the information you want on the museum's web page. |

As far as I can tell the Museum doesn't have an official web page, other than a section on Egypt's tourism website. This lists the entry fees but does not mention membership. I've tried searching in Arabic, and still haven't had any luck finding an official website. |

Since January 2008 they have a newsletter. Here is the impressum from Issue 7 - January - April 2010 :
I would try this : subscribing there and after that, asking the people from the newsletter by e-mail for the informations you need.
Greetings, Lutz. |

That's very useful Lutz- thanks.
I often use the site Global Egyptian museum http://www.globalegyptianmuseum.org/, but the artifacts from Cairo are of limited number. Emailing the museum IS the best way to get ionformation on their collections- without a doubt.
