I'm soooooo gonna go watch "King Arthur".
Can't help it, saw some trailers. Smile

I thought about it until I heard a movie review on NPR (National Public Radio; didn't know if you were familiar with that 'institution' here in the USA)

They really panned it. The guy was actually really funny. Made some comment how Guinevere miraculously ends up with a wardrobe after appearing leather clad and painted at first.
The funniest comments were about Merlin. Described him as some "woodland terrorist". Wish I could remember the exact quote. Something about Osama-bin-Merlin. Had me laughing hard enough that I had to work on keeping my car in its lane on the freeway.....

That could be. Smile
Sure thing is they didn't really follow the cliché lines.
It actually resembles the theory about Arthur I like the most.
Stating he's a late-Roman 'warlord' bringing a last shred of unity to the British isle.
Never heard of NPR, but heard enough bad reviews.
Enough 'surprised' reviews as well.
I'll go make up my own mind. Wink

Did Brad Pitt look like Achilles then?
No need for a film to be historically correct.
(just not totally incorrect is good enough)

No, but britney and Buffy don't exactly look Egyptian do they? I suppose you can get away with blondes in Greece, but not in Egypt? I don't know.

I think I'll wait until it comes out on DVD Very Happy

Right now I really want to see The Bourne Supremacy and the remake of the Manchurian Candidate. Both of those are suppposedly really good movies. Fahrenheit 911 is still on the list as well Very Happy

Hèhè...
The first two are on my list as well.
Michael Moore, though I share his opinion, seems a little dogmatic to me though.
Could be prejudice.

Yeah I think his movie should be thought of as a propaganda piece. I am kinda curious how he puts his message together though. More of an intellectual curiosity I guess.

I saw Arthur the other night - and I must say although it was enjoyable, it sure wasn't a particularly memorable movie.
Think I prefered Troy really.
The cast was kinda *blah* and the characters pretty one dimensional.
Annie's comment on Osama Bin Merlin was so funny and kinda right - they could have done more with the characters I thought.
Was a cool change having it set so much earlier in history.

A good movie for a rainy night - still for me it pales besides LOTR's Laughing

To Seg... notworthy
Laughing

Now I'm hanging out with bated breath for Alexander. Sounds and looks like it should be a good one.

Stop using that expression, please...
Annie used it once and I tend to read diagonally.
Always comes out as "beaded beard".
Really weird...
