Hey I am interested to know if there is any recorded interaction between the nations (trade or otherwise) after the reign of Pepi II. Or would Egypt not interact with Nubia until the construction of the Buhen fortresses in the Middle Kingdom?

Thanks.

For example...

Stuart Tyson Smith : State and Empire in the Middle and New Kingdoms. - In: Anthropology and Egyptology - A Developing Dialogue - Monographs in Mediterranean Archaeology 8. - Sheffield : Academic Press, 1997. - pp. 66 - 89.

Bruce Beyer Williams : Serra East and the Mission of Middle Kingdom Fortresses in Nubia. - In: Gold of Praise - Studies on Ancient Egypt in Honor of Edward F. Wente - SAOC 58 (66 MB). - Chicago : Oriental Institute, 1999. - pp. 435 - 453.

And of course, several monographs on the Egyptian history in its entirety.

Greetings, Lutz.
