I want to make a list of the places they would write, and where they would keep their writing.

I figure there is writing in the temples, in the tombs, on the monuments, on papyrus, on sacrabs and other amulets and things like jars, in the caves, maybe on furniture? I don't think they had it on furniture, I think that is more of a contemporary additive these days to present the relic of their culture.
Anyone have things to add to this list?

I know a lot of the texts we read are found on papyrus and these were found in caves and in tombs. I also heard that some of the major stories are inscribed on the temples.

Each temple had their writings. Is there a book that translates the writings on the temples?

So far, I have learned that the writings on the Temple of Horus, Edfu, was the writing of the 12 hours of the night, and the contention of Horus with Seth.

As for the translations of the writings on other temples, I do not know what is written there.

Not for the first time ...

" TOPOGRAPHICAL BIBLIOGRAPHY OF ANCIENT EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPHIC TEXTS, RELIEFS, AND PAINTINGS "

So, that this is hardly likely / not possible, should already say common sense, right? How should a book like this look like? How many pages and authors would be necessary there? And how many people lives to write it?

And if you take a look into Volume VI - Upper Egypt - Chief Temples : pp. 119 - 177 you will quickly realize that there is many more at the walls of the Temple in Edfu than you have "learned" ...

Wow, this is definitely a good start. As far as the book with the translations, maybe I should have said books... Surely, there are books with good translations. This website is great, though, thanks.
