" King Tut's Wife May Be Buried in Newly Discovered Tomb " (Live Science - Owen Jarus, 18.07.2017)
Quote: | Famed archaeologist Zahi Hawass and his team say they've found evidence of a tomb that could belong to King Tut's wife.
The archaeologists eventually plan to excavate the new tomb, which is located near the tomb of the pharaoh Ay (1327-1323 B.C.) in Egypt's Valley of the Kings, Hawass told Live Science.
"We are sure there is a tomb there, but we do not know for sure to whom it belongs," Hawass told Live Science in an email. On July 7, National Geographic Italia published an article in Italian suggesting that a team led by Hawass had found a new tomb in the Valley of the Kings, and Hawass confirmed that discovery to Live Science. ... |

" Archaeologists announce discovery of Tutankhamun's wife lost tomb " (Egypt Today, 19.07.2017)
Quote: | ... In a follow up update to livescience however, Hawass cautions that there might not be a tomb there, and that further excavations are required to be certain. |
Live Science wrote: | Update: In an email to Live Science on July 10, Hawass cautioned that until excavations take place, he can't say for sure that a tomb has been discovered, and it is still possible that there is no tomb. "It is all possibilities until we excavate," Hawass said. |
Has the "real" Minister hacked or is it all just the usual Hawass-Book-Selling-Show again?

In January 2018, Zahi Hawass launched his own excavations at the Valley of the Monkeys, a side valley in the area of the Valley of the Kings. The focus of the excavations is in the area in close proximity to the tomb of Ay, Tutankhamun's successor. The radar scans in the area detected the presence of a possible entrance to a tomb at a depth of 5 meters. The excavation project is funded by Discovery Channel.
It is believed that the location of the tomb of Ankhsenamun, Tutankhamun's widow, who married Ay after Tutankhamun's death, is still hidden somewhere in the Valley of the Monkeys.

" Have Archaeologists Discovered the Tomb of King Tut's Wife? Maybe. " (Live Science - Owen Jarus, 10.04.2018)
Quote: | Since January, about 100 Egyptian workers have been excavating an area in the western valley of Egypt's Valley of the Kings that may contain the tomb of King Tut's wife. So far, archaeologists have remained tight-lipped about their findings.
However, the Discovery Channel, which is funding the research, has released a photo of these excavations taking place in an area where a radar reading suggests a tomb entrance is located. ... |
" Discovery Sets Egyptian Archeological Docuseries ‘Valley Of The Kings’ " (Deadline - Denise Petski, 06.04.2018)
Quote: | Valley Of The Kings takes place at Egypt’s famed burial ground of the pharoahs in a search for the lost tomb of an ancient royal. Led by renowned archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass, the crew of more than 100 Egyptian workers are digging in the largely untouched western portion of the valley, where leading archaeologists believe several royal tombs lie hidden. Using cutting edge technology, Discovery says the series takes audiences inside the search for answers in a land full of mystery—the search for the secrets buried in the sand.
The series will premiere later this year on Discovery Channel and Science Channel. ... |

" Where's the Tomb of King Tut's Wife? Valley of the Kings Dig Leaves Mystery " (Live Science - Owen Jarus, 30.07.2018)
Quote: | ... Discovered in 2010 near the tomb of King Ay(who married King Tut's widow), four foundation deposits were found that hold a blue-painted vase, knives with wooden handles and the head of a bovine. The four foundation deposits are in a rectangular shape. A radar scan of the site, in the West Valley, showed an anomalous void that hinted there was a tomb entrance near the deposits. Excavations resumedin January 2018. ...
... However, no tomb has been found. "We did not discover anything yet in the West Valley," Zahi Hawass, a former minister of antiquities who is leading excavations, told Live Science in an email. The team dug down to the spot where radar indicated that a tomb entrance may be located, but the researchers found nothing. The team is still digging in other areas near the foundation deposits in hopes of finding the tomb. ...
... In addition to work in the West Valley, Hawass is also starting to excavate in the East Valley, where archaeologists have found most of the Valley of the Kings tombs to date. ... |

About a study day of the "Manchester Ancient Egypt Society (MAES)" ...
Quote: | ... On a visit to Manchester in November, Ray Johnson and Jay Heidel from Luxor’s Chicago House mentioned another example of this phenomenon that will potentially have major consequences for Egyptology. In the Western Valley of the Kings (see above, top), the Egyptian authorities have begun to clear away many metres of surface overfill, including enormous boulders as big as a car, that seems to have resulted from the collapse of the walls of the Valley (perhaps also caused by flash flooding).
Astonishingly, they have found potsherds under this deep layer of broken rock, which suggests that it is only a matter of time before evidence of long-lost tombs is found. ... |

The problem with such surveys in the Valley of the Kings seems to be the natural caverns in the rocks... These are hard to distinguish from artificial, man made. As in 2008, when they where looking for a tomb in the center of the Valley in close proximity to KV 62 - Tutankhamun :
