I thought I would start a thread with just links to sites dealing with art and literature.
Please just post contributions to this list of links. I do not mean this thread to be a discussion.
Inappropraite posts will be removed.

A list of original texts listed by: Mythology, hymns, magical writings; Tales, cartoons; Scientific writings; Teachings, instructions, 'wisdom' literature; Biographies, memorials; Documents and records concerning legal and economic matters; Historical, political writings, official accounts, etc.

I thought I'd toss in this one, which I've enjoyed in the past:

ORIENTAL INSTITUTE ELECTRONIC RESOURCES

There's a goldmine of information here, including dictionaries the O.I. is compiling and some archival photographs. And there's pleny available for those of you interested in learning more about the Mesopotamian cultures. Wink

A site that takes a fresh look at the art of Ancient Egypt by using mathematics to give us a better understanding of what is happening in their artworks.

Some internet resources that I often use when researching...

AIGYPTOS - University Munich, best results when you give just the first letter into a search field and use then the offered keywords. You can define your search if you use two fields "Keyword" at the same time with one search term in each (for example into one "tutankhamen" and in the other "karnak").

Aegyptiaca - Literaturdatenbank des Instituts für Ägyptologie und Koptologie der Westfälischen Wilhelms-Universität Münster, also with some older works, missing in AIGYPTOS.

Catalogue of the University Library Heidelberg, this one is the mean library for Egyptology professional literature in Germany. Practically the direct links if the book / article is available online.

Propylaeum-DOK - Digital Repository Classical Studies is the full-text server of the Virtual Library of Classical Studies and is made available by the University Library of Heidelberg. It offers members of the academic community worldwide the opportunity to publish their texts in electronic format on the internet at no charge.

University Karlsruhe - Virtual Catalogue helpful for international search / recherche.

Very helpful is also the page from THE EGYPTOLOGISTS' ELECTRONIC FORUM - EEF.

Greetings, Lutz.

" JSTOR - Early Journal Content "

Quote:
The Early Journal Content on JSTOR includes journal articles published in the United States before 1923 and articles published in other countries before 1870, and includes discourse and scholarship in the arts and humanities, economics and politics, and in mathematics and other sciences.

On JSTOR, the Early Journal Content is free and available for use by anyone, without registration and regardless of institutional affiliation. The amount of free content will grow over time. As we add more journals to JSTOR, new articles within these time ranges will be added to the Early Journal Content, and will remain freely available. ...

Greetings, Lutz.
