I really enjoyed The Last Samuri. I bought that one on DVD as soon as it came out. I also liked Cruise in Minority Report. Before then I rarely saw any movie that starred Cruise because I never liked him, with the exception of Born on the 4th of July. Cruise has come a long way.

A bit off topic. This has nothing to do with War of the Worlds or Tom Cruise but has anyone seen Troy? I finally seen that recently and found it to be quite good.

I liked Troy. I wish I knew more about Greek legends to be able to tell how accurate or inaccurate it was, but I guess in the end a movie is meant to entertain, and Troy certainly did that.

We can look at The Mummy and The Mummy Returns that way, too. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of ancient Egypt knows how far off both films were, but they were never meant to be history lessons in the first place. They were just plain fun, and that's all right. Very Happy

See, I didn't even know that much. Well, the movie version of the war was much more efficient, then, don't you think? I mean, who wants to live on a beach in a bunch of smelly tents for ten years? It's probably because the real invaders of Troy didn't have Brad Pitt to spirit them onward. Laughing
