Honestly, I was sorta kidding, but it is a good idea to do it as a birthday kind of thing, kmt_sesh wouldn't get one because I've already made him a cake and wrote him a song so he's sol. Laughing I'm only kidding.

Are my sketches even wall worthy? Actually I prefer black and white photos over coloured ones so who knows?

How much would it cost to send a sketch in the mail, approximately?

Story of my life. And the cake had a fly in it...I thought it was a raisen but then it occurred to me it had wings. Ever since I ate the fly I've had a curious fascination with dog do-do. Very Happy

Absolutely. With that detail and lifelike quality, I'd definitely hang one on my wall. Oh, that's right, I got cake. And I ate it, too.

That's a good question. Depends on how you'd want to mail it. Fed-Ex? UPS? I'd just go with a Priority Mail 9x12 or 10x13 envelope, with a couple of cardboard sheets on either side of the drawing to protect it. I shouldn't imagine it would cost more than a buck or two. Or you could fold it up and stick it in a standard business envelope for 30-some cents. Surprised

Very Happy I wouldn't want you to spend any money on me Daniella.
It's definitely "wall worthy", but you should hang it on your own wall Wink

I would say take the couple of dollars saved on postage and buy some high quality paper with it. It's really worth having good paper to work on.

I can always download the pictures I like and print them out....

Don't kid yourself, you had that fascination with dog do-do before you ate the fly! Laughing

It's 53 cents here, or is it 51?

No, actually it was cat do-do. Okay, enough do-do talk. Yuck.

Laughing Yeah, everything here is more expensive than it is in the States. But, then again minimum wage is more, so I guess it all works out the same, eh? And by the way it's Canucks. Get it right, man. Laughing

What can I say? I've never studied the Canadian language. Laughing

I've been to Winnepeg a couple of times (gorgeous city). This was many years ago, but I still remember the very first time because the beer in the bars was so damn cheap! I just loved how far the American dollar stretched back then.

Eh.

LOL I'd hardly conisder myself well-traveled, especially compared to many of the people at ED. I've been all over the U.S., but the onnly foreign countries I've ever visited are Canada and Mexico. Does that really even count? I'd like to leave the Western Hemisphere just once to see what other parts of the world are like.

And as far as plane travel goes, you haven't been missing much. Sure, it's a wonderful convenience, but you get to spend a lot of money for the pleasure of it while you're crammed in a tube with a bunch of loud, talking, burping, snoring, farting people...and their screaming kids.

I know you're just trying to make me feel better, but the fact is that I'm young, I should be traveling. Smile

Okay I have another sketch done, but my stupid cell phone camera data cable thingy isn't working, it keeps saying "mobile not connected" so I can't post the picture. Unless I can scan it, the paper might be too big but I'll try anyways..tomorrow...tomorrow, I love ya, tomorrow, it's only a day awaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Why does everything go wrong for me? That stupid cable cost me $70!

Well, dear, you have to be sure to use the correct spells and incantations. Trust me, I work with computers professionally, and all of these digital devices require a kind of magic all their own. Why do you think I study ancient Egypt so carefully?

Hope it works for you. I'd love to see more of your artwork.

Okay I did another one a while ago and my stupid thingy is broken so I had to scan it and it didn't turn out very well, it looks lighter than it really is, but here it is anyway:

The small picture to the left is the one Rozette got for me, so thank you. Very Happy

Thank you so much, that means alot to me. Very Happy

I used to completely freehand sketch and I still do sometimes, but for the Amarna princess sculptures I use the gridding system. I believe the ancient Egyptians used that too, for scale and such. It works like a pro, and it's so easy! The only thing I don't like about it is erasing all of the lines. Mad

That's really wonderful Daniella! I love the drawing.

I think the grid system was also used by great artists from the renaissance period. I have used that myself. Does make it a lot easier doesn't it? Very Happy

You really do a fantastic job of representing the figures in the round.
I have problems with that. I have tried to draw pictures of statues, but I'm never quite happy with how they look.
The arms don't look right, or the feet look weird Confused
