I just watched that movie the other day and although I was a little disappointed that there weren't any Egypt scenes, I thought the movie was great....so to speak. Great nude scenes too! Very Happy

The nude scenes were ok but the papyrus scenes were excellent. (If you don't already know - guess who sold it to them Wink )

Did you follow the link I provided?

Alexander's tomb was supposedly located in something called the Soma.

Quote:
Alexandria: Many, if not most archaeologist are convinced that Alexander was buried in the city that he founded in Egypt on its northern Mediterranean coast, named for the great ruler. There is considerable ancient material about his funeral in Alexandria, after his body was taken there from Memphis. Other ancient texts refer to various important personalities, including Roman emperors and scholars, who visited his tomb in Alexandria.

From what I have read, Alexander was buried in Alexandria in a gold sarcophagus. Later one of the Ptolemies supposedly took the sarcophagus for the gold and placed Alexander in a glass sarcophagus.

The anecdotes from several famous people who supposedly saw Alexander in his tomb leads most historians to believe that he really was buried in Alexandria.

The Ptolemaic rulers were suppposedly buried near Alexander, so finding his tomb should also find us (possibly) the location of some of the Ptolemaic royal tombs. Sadly it does not seem to be known where in Alexandria Alexander and the rest of the Ptolemaic royal family was buried.
Sometime in the 4th Centyry AD this info was laready lost.
Some think this necropolis lies beneath the waters of the Mediterranean while others think it lies somewhere beneath modern day Alexandria.

Very Happy Just noticed you passed 100 posts and became a scribe!
Congrats on the "promotion" Wink

I'm sure everyone else is already sick of me saying this, but I supplied the papyrus for the movie (over 40,000 sheets). It was quite a coup so I tend to go on about it Wink And I'm just glad it was actually used in the movie (in fact, it was used quite extensively Smile )

When I was watching the movie with my boyfriend, I said to him, "That's the same kind of paper I have". Laughing It's the excact same kind of paper, and it was from the same place, makes you feel kind of special.
