Yea, I almost mentioned that, but didnt want to spark a history vs faith debate. I dunno that it was intentional, but it certainly was convenient.

It may be debatable among some Christians, but that would be about it. Anything before the Christ is pre-Christian. At the time the plagues are said to have taken place, another thousand-plus years (using the Bible as a dating tool, which is dubious to begin with) would pass before Christ the Messiah of biblical fame would even be born.

Good point, maahes. This is the sort of thing that happens when one tries to take the Bible too seriously as an historical tool. After all, original manuscripts of the Pentateuch have never been found (and likely never will), so all we're left with are later writings that went through generations of purposeful editing and revisions.
