Hi, I'm new to the forum and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I'm looking for an inscription or possibly papyrus art with a picture of a large scorpion with oustretched (and feathery) wings. I saw the picture once before and so far have been unable to find it. If anyone could point me in the right direction or send a picture to me, it would be a great help. Thanks

I have to admit that I have never heard of a winged scorpion.

There are plenty of examples of winged scarabs. Some of those are quite beautiful. Here's an example:

Another possibility is that you are looking for an image of the scorpion goddess Selket? She is not shown with wings to my knowledge.
Here's an image of Selket from Tut's tomb:

I hope one of these is what you are looking for.

This is interesting. Scorpions don't have wings in nature. If you said you saw an Egyptian depiction of a winged scorpion, I don't doubt it. They might be depicting a scorpionfly, which is another species of insect unrelated to the scorpion. It seems that the scorpion and the scorpionfly are an example of parallel evolution. Where the two species development similar traits or appearance, but do not share genealogy. It would be interesting if we could find, where the winged scorpion was depicted.
