II DYNASTY We do not know the reasons that pushed Manetone to subdivide the sequence of the monarchs of what it comes called archaic period in two distinguished dynasties. Also the Real Canone lists these monarchs without some solution of continuity. In spite of the sparsity of historical documentation the analysis of the Horo names of the monarchs allows to formulate some hypotheses, sufficiently founded, on the events of the period. In its conclusive part II the dynasty had, probably to assist, to one crash between the tiniti monarchs and the Low Egypt. Trace of that can be desumere from the cancellation of the name of Peribsen, cancellation that sottilinea a damnatio memoriae, practical often adopted in ancient Egypt in the comparisons of those who was considers you usurpatori. The choice of Peribsen to replace the guardian divinity of the royalty transferring some the rank from Horo, original divinity of the Egypt High to Seth, coming from divinity from the Low Egypt, seems to perhaps confirm the hypothesis of one crash between the two members of the state egizio and also one breach, at least temporary of the unit. The present fact that Khasekhemwy adopts in its titolatura the formula, more not repeated, Horo and Seth and callbacks to the pacification in others you leave of the titolatura same door to think to an action of mediation of this monarch who could have brought back to the unit the state egizio putting the bases for the succssiva historical phase: the ancient reign. Inside of this outline, probably too much simplified, they moved you vary sovereign whose storicità and positioning in the dynasty remain controversial because of the lack of data. Always they have been fascinated from the history of the first Dynasties, but also on the books of it it is spoken just little, perhaps because reperti enough archaeological ours are not committees to the days in a position to give ulterior elucidations to us… I have tried also through Internet but they have succeeded to find little… You could even help me? Thanks…

Jochem Kahl : " Ra is my lord " - Searching for the rise of the sun god at the dawn of Egyptian history. - Wiesbaden: Harrassowitz, 2007. - ISBN: 978-3-447-05540-6. - VIII, 81 p., Ill., 4 Pl. - Menes - Studien zur Kultur und Sprache der gyptischen Frhzeit und des Alten Reiches - 1.

According to its opinion it came at the end of the 1st and particularly during the first half of the 2nd Dynasty to a fundamental change in ideology and religion generally. Connected with the ascent of the sun god Ra, also dominating over Horus, a subordination of kingship under a higher power and the principle of "Maat" took place.
Usually the kings of the 1st Dynasty legitimizing from own strength, they now went justifying itself under a higher power, opposite also the king has to justify its acting.

Proofs / references after Kahl:

The names of the kings of the 1st Dynasty exhibit still no purchases to other divinities. The stress of the physical strength and advantages of the governing Horus is located clearly in the center, the kingship legitimizes mainly from own strength and power.

A divinity called " The golden / radiation one " - probably Ra (if, then the earliest proof) - united for Horus Peribsen for the first time the two countries.

Horus " Ra-Neb ". Its translation of the name with " Ra is my lord " Kahl justify`s in detail.

Already to this early time inseparably connected with Ra is the principle " Maat ", the arranging basis of living together within the Egyptian society. Also the king had to measure itself and its regency at this. Thus probably the opinions changed themselves to the meaning of human life and its priority:

Quote:
Page 61 : "... In addition the kings of the Second Dynasty abandoned the burial custom of retainer sacrifice (Reisner, Stadelmann, Wilkinson) and no longer practiced the ritual human sacrifice called " Ssp Sma.w mH.w " :

This can be interpreted as a renunciation of a demonstration of their absolute power (Wilkinson) and as a fundamental change in dealing with human life. ..."
