I posted some stuff under "Pharaohs and Queens" for you.
You might also want to check out what I mentioned under the Akhmin post, because that's where she was from.

I'm assuming that you are talking about the wife of Amenhotep III, mother of Akhenaten etc.?

There are other women by that name and variants of it. Ay's wife was also called Tey (often given a different spelling to distinguish her from her more illustrious sister in law).

There is also a wife of Ramses III who was called Tiye. She was put on trial for trying to kill her hubby....

Ramses III's mother was called Tiye-Merenesse.

So, the name was quite popular for a while.

Are there particular things you want to know about her? Where she lived? Where she came from? Family?

Two good places to start are:
Chronicle of a Pharaoh: The Intimate Life of Amenhotep III
by Joann Fletcher

Here's an interesting site about the Palace at Malkata, where Tiye lived:
http://www.waseda.ac.jp/projects/egypt/sites/MP-E.html

Tiye was the daughter of Yuya and Tuya. Their tomb and mummies have been found. The Theban Royal Mummy Project has a lot of information about Yuya and Tuya and their tomb

http://members.tripod.com/anubis4_2000/mummypages1/intro.htm

Tiye had a brother called Aanen and she was probably also the sister of Ay (the later Pharaoh).

KV55 is a tomb in the Valley of the Kings, that is thought to be a deposit for a body from the Amarna period. In the tomb they did find some of the funerary equipment of Queen Tiye.

Have fun with the info! Very Happy

Let us know if you find anything interesting.

There's a copy at:
http://www.physics.utoledo.edu/~ljc/rhind.html

If you click on the image you see an enlarge.

There's a partial translation found here:
http://www.math.washington.edu/~greenber/Rhind.html

The problem is that I'm not sure what these things mean. I think that a sekhen is something like an angle of inclination. Even with the translation it seems non-trivial to intrepret the papyrus correctly.

By the way, don't translate it for my sake! I find it interesting, but I don't really feel a "great need" to fully understand the papyrus.
(If someone else really wants to understand it I'm willing to help though.)
