Amarna Period kings in Sinai

Interesting arctile in Egyptian Archaeology about the excavation at Tell el-Borg in North Sinai.

Tell el-Borg in North Sinai is one of the frontier forts that guarded Egypt’s eastern borders during the New Kingdom.

Since 1999 investigations at Tell el-Borg in North Sinai have uncovered a significant amount of material from the Amarna period. In addition to pottery from this intriguing period, the names of an unanticipated number of members of the royal family of Akhetaten were found. Wine jar seals make up the majority of the witnesses to this period.

An uninscribed relief fragment discovered in 2007 at Tell el-Borg may depict one of the little known kings who followed Akhenaten to the throne.

The Palestine region and the Sinai were subdued by the Egyptians.
Until the late Ramessides, control of the region was quite steady.
Akhenaten didn't loose these territories, if that's what u were wondering.
