I thought I would give the board a bit of a spruce up and have changed the colours - no, really I have.

If anyone has any problems seeing any of the text or other parts of the board since I made the change please let me know.

Thanks
Kevin

I think it looks terrific, Kevin. The colors you chose are very soft and appealing. Wink

Everything reads fine as far as I'm concerned. No problems there.

LOL You did throw me a loop, however. First thing this morning once I was at work I decided to log in and check on things. I was still half-asleep. ED came up and at first I thought, Oh, great, there's something wrong with my monitor.

My next thought was, Hey, but I like the way this looks.

Serious, I thought my monitor was going funky. Well, I'm wide awake now and I really like the update.

ED looks different! When I logged on this AM, I thought I must have gone to the wrong board--the background colors are changed.
Looks nice!

Glad you both like the new look. It has only taken me 5 years to get around to doing it. I always wanted it to match the colours of the shop but never seemed to get around to actually doing it - until now. Smile

Kevin, is ED a phpBB3 board, something you built from scrarth, or something altogether different? I've always been curious.

Its a phpBB board, downloaded from phpbb.com and installed on my server.

I love the new colours-they are very sandy and desert-y which is fitting!

Looks good Kevin. Another forum I heavily frequent is the same as old forum colours (same style really too) and I would often get confused. Rolling Eyes

.... Could have been disastrous in fact Laughing

I saw the "phpBB" on the bottom of the page but I wasn't sure which version. ED seems more advanced that my own forum, which is version 2. We're supposed to be able to upgrade to v3 sometime in the near future and I was curious what that might entail.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. I really do like the new skin. Isisinacrisis is right: very desert-like. That nails it. Wink

You get more functions and stuff when you host it on your own host instead of using a free phpbb host.

Yes that is correct. As I have the source code I can pretty much do any modifications I want. This board is currently version 2. Kmt_Sesh, until you mentioned version 3 I didn't know it existed. However, I'm a great believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix", so unless there is an overwhelming requirement to upgrade, e.g. security issues, I probably won't bother.

I agree with you, Kevin. I have some V2 boards and have no need to switch to V3. They've had problems with V3 (as with anything new) but I think they're solved now. I'm happy with mine and would only switch if I needed to Wink
