Just fiction and entertainment. Usually the heart was kept in mummified corpses. Relax and have fun, but don't expect learn anything about Egyptology there.

Incorrect actually. This was based off of a story from Egyptian history and the "characters" did in fact exist.

Dynasties IX and X
2135-1986
Rulers

* Neferkare - Father to Anok
* several kings named Kheti
* Meri-Hathor (?)
* Merikare

The page referred to above does not mention any prince named Anok.
I cannot find any reference to an Egyptian by that name.

Anyway the AEs didn't have rubies or any other precious stone though pearls and Emeralds are atested to in the Roman period.

Obviously, although there was a king by the name of Nererkare (wasn't he Pepi I?), Anok is pure fiction.
It is not an Egyptian name.

The contribution of "vancesolano" is purely for promotion of a racist afro-centric website. Into the trash with that nonsense!

I've removed the link and suspended the account. It must be the holidays, bringing out the nutcases. Rolling Eyes

The story was absolute fiction, as no such individual existed and is not related to any myth of which I am aware (despite "vancesolano's" contention to the contrary).

As I am the person who provided the hieroglyphs used in this episode of Bones, I was rather saddened to see they couldn't even choose a reliable historical or mythical basis for their ancient characters.
