I tried to look it up on You Tube for an english version, but no luck. The original film seemed to be taken in the 70's. Maybe? The film suggest's that it has to do with Saqquara. |

The narrator provides a fantasistic version of who the mummy would be, mixing Rahotep/Nofret, Sennefer/Meryt and even the Hunefer's Book of Dead, but is clearly seen that the mummy would be a king, because of the crossed arms. But they never tell us who is in fact. |

That certainly is a horror scene! They are not even wearing gloves most of the time!
Sorry I can't shed any light on who it might be but needless to say, he deserved much better. |

Shocking!
I am googling for the identity of the mummy, but haven't found anything yet!
Why did they use a CHISEL to rip all the dry tissue off?(I may be wrong, there may be more than one chisel...) |

The coffin looks Third Intermediate Period to me, perhaps early Late Period. I would guess the former. I do not think it's a king's, however. It was not uncommon in these later periods for men to be mummified with their arms crossed over the chest. It doesn't necessarily specify royalty in all periods.
I kept pausing the early part of the video over and over as it pans down the coffin, because there are plentiful hieroglyphs painted on the surface. The vertical bands painted down the front-center and lower down would contain the name, but the footage wasn't clear enough for me to make out the name.
I have to agree, though, that what they did to this mummy was pretty gruesome. What is this, a paleopathology examination or a butcher's shop? _________________

Was that the mummy's head that the narrator had his hand on and was rolling around like a lucky 8 ball? |
