This is probably complete abuse of web-space, but it occured to me no-one has ever actually started a topic with nonsense. Usually something serious becomes a teasing-game (don't look at me) or just plain foolishness. How about trying the other way around? _________________ "Leave him in error who loves his error."

So let me get this straight. You want a nonsensical themed thread?
Kinda like "surrealism on a discussion board"?
I think Kevin could just cut and paste several of our discussions in here.
Not saying he really should mind you (way too much work)
It's harder to come up with nonsense if you're asked to do so
It's really more of a natural talent I have that crops up at strange times _________________ Math and Art: http://mathematicsaroundus.blogspot.com/ |

Exactly my point, dear.
If this is meant to be nonsensical, it might just not work. _________________ "Leave him in error who loves his error."

This reminds me of the 5 yr old son of a friend of mine. I have long been his favorite auntie. He speaks Afrikaans, and whenever he hears me speak Dutch it tends to crack him up.
A while ago at the dinner table, he turns to me and goes:
"Say something funny, tannie Anneke"
That completely stumped me, then cracked me up. No need to ask what he thinks of me I guess. _________________ Math and Art: http://mathematicsaroundus.blogspot.com/ |

You'd probably crack up a Belgian as well...
Besides the fact of me wondering why you thought of that. _________________ "Leave him in error who loves his error."

It was the "say sometyhing funny" that provided the link for me.
I tend to crack up people even when I'm not trying
Sometimes I tend to go off on things, kinda free associate. Next thing you know, you look up and people are laughing at you. _________________ Math and Art: http://mathematicsaroundus.blogspot.com/ |

It seems we 'drift' in here: nothing real serious, nothing as absurd as in othe threads.

LOL Is this weird / absurd enough for you?
"Unsolicited toe-licking to be banned in the Netherlands?"
(something I worry about every day - NOT!)
Quote: | AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (Reuters) -- Unsolicited toe-licking would be banned in the Netherlands under a law sought by the Dutch Labor party after police were unable to prosecute a would-be Casanova with a taste for female toes because he had committed no crime.
A police spokesman said Friday a man had been detained after women sunning themselves in Rotterdam's parks and beaches claimed he had snuck up on them and begun to lick their toes.
"The officers had to let him go. Licking a stranger's toes is rather unusual but there is really nothing criminal about it," the spokesman said.
Dutch press reports said the man, who is about 35, had been licking the toes of strangers for about three years but was only recently caught by police. |

You know what I find even more bizarre? That that news story was deemed important enough to be the first news item reported on the radio this morning
Not world hunger or wars - some random toe sucker......

Why do I not find it remotely weird this topic to be the only one you're replying to?
You have to be kidding... this is actually a headliner?
At least this thread is picking a direction.

It was frontpage on the CNN website.
Still can't imagine why you would want to put this into law. There must be something more pressing or important out there.
How many of these freaks could there possibly be.
Also seems like it should be a seasonal crime. Can't really get to someone's toe if they are wearing winterboots.
Does make me wonder how this guy creeps up on his "victims"? Not something that's easily done without getting noticed. _________________ Math and Art: http://mathematicsaroundus.blogspot.com/ |
