Hi, i was hoping someone who has been to the Cairo museum recently to tell me how much it costs to get in.
Also, ive heard that you cannot take pictures in there, but i got told you can pay for a pass (very expensive) in order to take photo's with your own camera. Is this true?
Thanks. |

Yes it is, like in every Museum for Ancient Art in Egypt, not allowed anymore. They check on the entrance if you have a camera with you. If so you have to give them at the entrance next to the ticket house and get it back when you come out.
Permits for foto issued only to the SCA. You must apply for them several months in advance in writing and designate exactly the pieces that you want to photograph.
Greetings, Lutz. |

Supreme Council of Antiquities (often called SCA) is the branch of the Egyptian Ministry of Culture responsible for the conservation, protection and regulation of all antiquities and archaeological excavations in Egypt. http://www.sca-egypt.org/ |

Now, after the revolution, there is no SCA.
It is now called the Ministry of Antiques.
Luts, this is an article in Scientific American magazine. |
