On the Egyptian museum in Cairo.
They had 3 theories on death of Squenre Tao
1) Battle
2) Murder - dismissed as overkill
3) Killed after capture - their favorite.
Evidence against 1) was no defensive wounds - but most would be on his shield & that it would be difficult to cause the wounds on a man in a chariot from the ground. My answer to this is
a) he could have been fighting on foot
b) he could have been hit by another charioteer
c) he could have stopped/slowed & someone boarded his chariot.

With those head wounds he received it's likely he was stunned or killed right off (hence the lack of defensive wounds) and the rest was overkill or revenge. I also think we don't know whether or not he was fighting from a chariot. We don't even know if Seqenenre Tao had chariots. As far as I know, the only reason we know his son had them was that Ahmose Son of Ebana was nice enough to mention it in his tomb.

Even if he did have chariots and used one himself, this could have been a naval battle, or fighting in or near the river or canals where chariots would have been useless.
