Iím researching tomb robbers and tomb robbery in Egypt (ancient to modern times) and it would be appreciated
if anyone could assist me with any information, stories, old essays regarding this subject etc.

Thanks in advance.

For a starter look for references to Papyrus Salt 124 and the Amherst Papyrus, these are ancient Egyptian documents referring to robberies in the Valley of the Kings.

For a more modern view you could do worse than reading Howard Carter's book "The Tomb Of Tutankhamun" starting on page 43. This gives an account of the apprehension of a gang of tomb robbers trying to rob the cliff tomb of Hatshepsut, excavated whilst she was still a King's Royal Wife and before she assumed Pharonic titles.

Also look up the Abd el Rassul family, they were involved in a number of robberies in the 19th century most notably that of Amenhotep ll, plundering his mummy after it had been displayed by Howard Carter in KV35 and their activities which lead to the discovery of the royal cache at Deir el Bahri in 1881.

Then of course there is all the pillaging indulged in during last year's revolution.

Hope this helps.
