I still haven't found sand buckets in a sphinx or pyramid shape. Not that I go to the beach or would make sand castles if I did - but they would surely be a great seller?

I think this is part of this whole theory about a "Hall of Records".
This is some sort of depository of "ancient wisdom".

I think that part of it is "pseudo-science".

I have heard of aarcheologist trying to use ground penetrating radar to further investigate sites. It would after all be nice if we knew WHERE to dig Smile

There is an interesting find called the tomb of Osiris.
This is an underground chamber with a tomb (largely submerged in water).
see http://www.towers-online.co.uk/pages/shaftos2.htm

This has been shown on tv, by the way,

Zawi Hawass wrote an article about the "tomb".

http://www.guardians.net/hawass/osiris1.htm

I find it interesting that Herodotus was told that Cheops was buried in a granite sarcophagus, and that there was water near the pyramid.

I wonder if even the Egyptians at that time didn't know what that tomb was there for?

Hi Cleopatra

I'm glad you brought that up. Isn't Reeves supposed to excavate in the Valley of the Kings in an attempt to find Nefertiti's tomb?

I think that Reeves thinks that there is another Amarna cache in the Valley of the Kings. Compared to tut's tomb and KV 55.

There is of course the original tomb where Nefertiti was most likely interred: The royal tomb at Amarna.
They have at some point found pieces of her Ushabti.

Hi Anneke,
There are suggestions that Nefertiti died as a King. When I was there in February we went to Tut's Tomb and our guide was telling us that there is evidence that Nefertiti is buried near his tomb. I dont know how true that is or maybe its just in his script. They say they have been trying to start the excavation for years but have only just had permission to do so and will start it soon. Question
