I'm not sure if we discussed this before, but looking at the logo:

I wondered if it had any meaning at all. I don't think so, but thought it would be fun to look at anyway.

I think the hieroglyphs are:
E70-B60-B25-D35-??-??-B48 B1-B2-E70-B49-B8?-A1
nedj akh hnm ??-?? hat wm m hat sa (male determinant)

Maybe the unidentified bull in the middle should clue me in? Twisted Evil

How would you write egyptian dreams in hieroglyphics?
My try:
C24-C23-D15-D24-E35 A39-A38-E32
ha-kha-ptah d r ms

I know: I don't know what I'm doing Laughing Just having fun...

I wouldn't spend too much time on it. I have a hieroglyphic font and that's what Egyptian Dreams came out like. Wink

Very Happy I thought I remembered something like that.

It is funny though that even though there's then some random assignment of signs to letters, that to a lay(wo)man like me the first couple of signs come out to d-dj-kha-hnm
which by a reaaaaaly long stretch could be thought to say something about protection by the kha spirit.
(I think any real egyptologist might just attempt to beat me for suggesting that Laughing )

Just made me think how wishful thinking and a creative imagination would allow you to find hidden meaning in something like this.

Nope there's no meaning there. Unless you strain really really hard and start wishing there to be meaning, at which point you start spotting things that might mean something....

After intense study and scholarly insight, I have indeed deciphered the hieroglyphs under the logo:

"If you can read this, all items at the Egyptian Dreams gift shop are 60% off, and shipping is free!"

Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go to the gift shop...

Laughing I was for fun going to ask something like:
"If I hold your favorite goldfish hostage, and demand an interpretation as ransom, what would it be?"

I don't think anyone could top yours kmt_sesh Laughing

Ok. I'll try a serious translation. Even though it isn't real, I'll treat it as something in a temple or something.....oh dear. I'll just assume that it is written in a really wierd style.

'Said the crowned Ibis, "Foremost of the jars- oh mighty price! I am crowned as the great son"'

Oh well. I tried.

I was surprised to see the "meaning of the logo" back in my e-mail. Wow, that was some time ago. But I see you're trying to give us an actual hieroglyphic translation of the forum's name, and that's a great idea.

The rswt ("dream[s]") is straight out of Faulkner and is accurate, and everyone knows kmt. The word order is also correct, the modifier following the subject...so, yes, I'd say this is correct. Wink

Hey, I just noticed that I'm now a Vizier. Cool. I love power.

Don't worry, Pharaoh Kevin, I'll continue as your faithful and loyal servant and will put away my dagger and poison.

For now. Twisted Evil

Looks like the logo has changed since the time Anneke tried to translate it. Is there a reason for that?
