Is it at all possible that Ankesenamun could be in the chamber behind Tut's tomb? She was after all his wife, & half-sister, or even full sister if Nefertiti was Tut's mother.
I have read that after Tut's death, Ankesenamun supposedly married Ay, & also might have written a letter to a rival king in another land, implying that she was a widow. But is it possible that she might have died before Tut, perhaps in childbirth, & then was buried in the chamber, & Tut was placed in when he suddenly died? Just a wild theory, but given that Tut & Ankesenamun seemed to be very close & had real affection for each other, if she did in fact die before him, isn't this a possibility of her being in there? _________________ Beautiful are the blessings of Aten |

It seems likely that Ankensrnamun should be the KV21 mummy aged between 25 and 40 that is in all probability the mother of the foetuses in Tut's tomb. In addition the political correspondence of the time suggests strongly that age outlived Tut by some months at least.
Given the amount of adapted burial equipment in Tut's tomb, I think if there is a burial it'll be Neferneferuaten and / or Amarna royals who predeceased Tut or who died during previous reigns and were transferred to KV62. |
