Omm Sety and Hanny el-Zeini : Abydos - Holy City of Ancient Egypt. - [Ed. Arthur Wallace]. - Los Angeles : L L Company, 1981. - ISBN : 0937892076. - XXI, 282 p. - [PDF - 66 MB] :

Quote:
This work is introduced by a number of obituaries of Omm Sety and a preface by the editor, Arthur Wallace. The work is divided into three parts. The first part, called Pery, "The Rise", introduces Abydos before the 19th Dynasty and describes the Osireion and the related annexes. Part 2, Akh, "The Glory", is devoted to the Ramesside kings and the temples of Abydos. Chapter 5 sketches Sety's life, and chapters 6-17 give a detailed description, with many photographs, of the complete temple of Sety I. After a brief chapter 18 on the other monuments of Sety at Abydos follow the chapters on Ramses II and his temple. Again, first a brief introduction on the king in chapter 19, and then in chapters 20-26 a description of the Ramses temple. After the brief chapter 27 about Abydos under the later Ramessides follows part 3, Sekhu "The Fall". This part is very brief and deals in chapters 28-30 with later Abydos and the decline. Three appendixes follow: a glossary to the major gods represented in the temples; a note on colour used by the ancient Egyptian artists; and a note on the restoration of the monuments at Abydos. Index added.

Greetings, Lutz.
