Guys
An image taken years ago, in Luxor.
Cartouche is of Ramses II.
Can anyone explain the rest ie
the bird - the Bennu Bird, I presume, which represents immortality (?).
Is that a hand or foot being presented towards the solar disc?
What is the relationship to the cartouche? What about the star. Sirius?
What does it all mean? Shocked Idea pharaohwave

Any idea where this was taken? I'm guessing his memorial temple?

A lapwing (Gardiner G 24 = "rḫyt") depicted on a nb hieroglyph, with his hands raised. He shows his homage to the pharaoh, who is symbolized here with a cartouche by Ramses II.

This so-called "rechit bird" was a symbol for the underling of Pharaoh, i.e. for the population of Egypt.

I guess the Luxor Temple, of course Karnak is also possible ...

Gardiner N14 + G24 + V30 = " dwȝ rḫyt nbt " = " all the rekhyt-people adore ".

Hi guys
karnsculpture - as far as I know, from the very sparce records, it was in the Luxor complex. Beyond that, I have no idea.
Lutz - Thank you. That "puts a name" to the image. Much appreciated.

After the King's Name (in the cartouche)

dwA(.w) rx.yt nb(.t)

is an epithet of the King:
"the one praised by all humans"
or
"who is praised by all subjects"
